Copyediting is our main focus at Landmark Editorial, and we offer three different levels of service:

• Light edit: A basic edit for spelling, grammar, and punctuation. The author's voice and style is left as is. Any major changes are queried and suggested but left to the author to resolve. Any references are edited for consistency but not for conformance to style.
• Normal edit: Editing for spelling, grammar, and punctuation plus a more substantive edit of the text to smooth and tighten the writing style. The author's voice and style are maintained, but more substantial edits may be made when the editor deems them necessary. The utmost care is taken to ensure conformance to the author's voice and style. References are edited for consistency and in accordance with specific style guidelines.
• Heavy edit: A normal edit plus substantial rewriting of the text for clarity and consistency. A heavy edit may also be necessary when references are very incomplete and heavy querying is required. Articles and manuscripts written by an ESL speaker often require a heavy edit.

Proofreading is also offered at Landmark Editorial. We will accept PDF files for proofreading or hard-copy manuscripts. Proofreading is a review of a final draft for egregious errors only, including misspellings and missing or incorrect punctuation. Few, if any, changes are made to the actual text for style or preference conformity.
